The older children visited Dakshinachitra on 26 Oct 2018 for their second term outing. They took part in some traditional activities like block printing and pot making, and were also treated to a magic show.
Talent Day was held on 14th November 2018, when the children displayed their varied talents in dancing, singing, skating, martial arts, yoga, musical instruments, story telling, drawing, etc. It was a fascinating day for all. The teachers too put up a dance performance for the children.
Golu and Diwali were celebrated with much joy. The children displayed their most favourite toys for the Golu display, and received visitors in traditional style. They also visited the Durga Puja pandal in Besant Nagar. Diwali too was celebrated with lighting of lamps and making Rangolis.
Project Day was held on 5th November 2018 on the topic "Wonders of Science", when the children displayed their experiments of the last six weeks on diverse topics in environmental science, botany, chemistry and physics. Hands on work on composting, germination, boiling, steaming, preservatives, rainwater harvesting, heat, light, friction, sound, gravity, liquids, gases, solids, etc. made it a very exciting display by the children.
The older children visited The Farm on 10th August 2018. They saw hens, cows and horses being reared, and also picked vegetables. They had a hand at digging and sieving mud. The younger children visited Guindy Park on 7th September.
Grandparents Day was was held on 27th July 2018. Over 200 grandparents attended an event filled with fun, games and performances by children and grandparents.
The Annual Concert was held on 24th March 2018. The hall was jam-packed with a 1000 strong audience, applauding an entertaining performance by the children. See Gallery for pictures.
The Overnight Camp was held on 19th January 2018. It began with a visit to the VGP Amusement Park after school hours, followed by games in school, dinner and chatting till bedtime. It was a memorable day for the children.
The English Olympiad results have been outstanding this year too. Four children were ranked within the top 10 international ranks, and another four in the top 50.
In the Science Olympiad one child was ranked 3rd internationally, and another was in the top 30.
Christmas was celebrated with a Christmas Party in school complete with a visit from Santa Claus who distributed gifts for the children. This was also a day of giving, when children gifted toys, clothes, books, food, etc. for an orphan home in Chennai.
