Grandparents Day was held on 26th Jul 2019. Attended by over 200 Grandparents, there were fun games and performances by grandparents and children. It was a great day for bonding.
The older children visited The Organic Farm, Nerkunampatti, about 80km from Chennai on 2nd August 2019. This was a part of their project on Zero Waste. They observed how the farm naturally recycles animal and plant waste, and also the zero waste activities practiced at the farm. They were also introduced to phyto-remediation techniques to recycle waste water. The younger children visited the Infinity Park in Santhome and the Traffic Island on Marina Beach on 22 August 2019.
Grandparents Day was was held on 26th July 2019. Over 200 grandparents attended an event filled with fun, games and performances by children and grandparents.
The Olympiad results for this academic year were outstanding. The English Olympiad had 4 international top-25 rankers, the Science Olympiad had 1, and the Math Olympiad had 2. Medals, prizes and certificates were awarded to these and other high-performing students.
In the Inter-school competitions organised by the Children’s Club in Mylapore, the school won the 3rd prize in English Storytelling, 2nd prize in English Recitation and 3rd prize in Hindi Recitation.
The Annual Concert was held at Vivekananda Auditorium on 23rd March 2019. The children regaled the 1000 strong audience for 3 hours with songs, plays and dances. See Gallery for pictures.
The Overnight Camp was held on 25th January 2019. It began with a visit to Snow Kingdom after school hours, where the children played in snow and also were taken to watch 4D and 12D pictures. This was followed by games in school, dinner and chatting till bedtime. It was a tiring but memorable day for the children.
Christmas was celebrated with a Christmas Party in school complete with a visit from Santa Claus who distributed gifts for the children. This was also a day of giving, when children gifted toys, clothes, books, food, etc. for an orphan home in Chennai.
Talent Day was held on 14th November 2018, when the children displayed their varied talents in dancing, singing, skating, martial arts, yoga, musical instruments, story telling, drawing, etc. It was a fascinating day for all. The teachers too put up a dance performance for the children.
The older children visited Dakshinachitra on 26 Oct 2018 for their second term outing. They took part in some traditional activities like block printing and pot making, and were also treated to a magic show. The younger children had a great time at Kartwheels, a play area, while the youngest were taken to Senmozhi Poonga park.
Project Day was held on 5th November 2018 on the topic "Wonders of Science", when the children displayed their experiments of the last six weeks on diverse topics in environmental science, botany, chemistry and physics. Hands on work on composting, germination, boiling, steaming, preservatives, rainwater harvesting, heat, light, friction, sound, gravity, liquids, gases, solids, etc. made it a very exciting display by the children.
